Reconnecting to One’s Essence

Dear Friends,

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of assisting Jenny, founder of LIATI Institute, at Baja Breath Camp on the shores of the Sea of Cortez, guiding breathwork, hypnotic meditation, and holding space for deep somatic release. As I witnessed twelve courageous women dive into their inner selves, I was reminded that true healing is rarely about becoming someone new, it is about remembering who we have always been beneath the layers of stress, conditioning, and expectation.

Throughout the week, we explored ancient myths and archetypes, including Inanna's descent, Kronus' lessons around time and control, and Artemis' fierce connection to intuition and self-trust. These stories became mirrors, helping us reconnect with our own ESSENCE (soul, spirit, truest self). The ocean was a co-facilitator, inviting us into its depths to swim alongside dolphins, Mobula rays, orcas, sea lions and a myriad of fish. Being held by the sea’s vastness added to the inner exploration that was happening on land.

I left Baja with immense gratitude for the women who said yes to the deep dive, for the opportunity to witness their courage, and for the reminder that we all need spaces that invite us back home to ourselves. As summer unfolds, I encourage you to carve out time to reconnect with your breath, your body, nature, or whatever helps you remember your own inner wisdom.
